Speech Language Pathology

Jill Frith

Co-Founder

Hi, I’m Jill, the co-founder of Collective Therapies, a speech therapy practice dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert care right where it matters most, in your home.

As a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with over 8 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with a wide range of communication and feeding needs. Before starting Collective Therapy, I was part of an interdisciplinary team, where I specialized in working with medically fragile infants and children. That experience shaped my deep understanding of complex care and my belief in meeting families where they are.

At Collective Therapies, we bring therapy to you. By providing services in the comfort of your home, we remove the stress of travel, create a familiar environment for your child, and allow therapy to naturally fit into your family’s routine. It’s all about making care more accessible, more personal, and more effective.

I’m passionate about early intervention, family involvement, and building strong therapeutic relationships using current research and evidenced based practice. Every session is tailored to your child’s unique needs and strengths, and every step of the way, we’re right there with you at home.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll likely find me chasing my two boys at Chief Whitecap dog park. Thank you for considering us to be part of your child’s journey. We’re honoured to come to you.

Co-Founder

Hi, I’m Mel, the other co-founder of Collective therapies. As a Speech-Language Pathologist with many years of experience, I’m passionate about supporting children, adults, and families on their communication and feeding journeys. I specialize in Speech, Language and feeding therapy across the lifespan always with a focus on comfort, connection, and individualized care.

I provide assessment and therapy for speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, language delays, and early literacy. I also work closely with late talkers and their families, offering guidance, coaching, and practical strategies to support communication growth in everyday life. For children with more complex needs, I offer AAC assessment, programming, and support to help them find their voice.

Therapy is provided in the comfort of your own home, where children feel safe, relaxed, and ready to learn. I believe in working hand-in-hand with families, caregivers, and community partners to build strong, supportive networks around every client.

My goal is to make therapy meaningful, respectful, and rooted in the unique strengths of each individual and family I serve.

When I’m not working with you, you can find me playing games with my two daughters, reading books and drinking lots of coffee! We are thrilled to be part of supporting you and your families.

Occupational Therapy

Aly Melnyk

Hi there!

I’m Aly, an occupational therapist (OT) who loves partnering with families to support children’s growth and development right in the comfort of their own homes. I have been asked a lot- what is occupational therapy? Occupational therapy helps kids build the skills they need to do everyday activities—like playing, learning, interacting, taking care of themselves, and enjoying life to the fullest.

As an OT, I am able to help children manage their arousal levels and regulate their emotions to support their bodies for learning, connecting with others, and playing. I assess how a child interacts with the world (their sensory system) and consider the unique child within their environment. I am able to help develop both physical and cognitive abilities for daily life.

Using a playful, strength-based approach that honors how each child learns best, my goal is to create a supportive, joyful therapeutic environment where children feel safe to explore new skills and gain confidence—whether that’s improving sensory processing, social skills, motor skills, or daily tasks.

It’s important to me to build relationships with my clients, be creative, and stay playful. I truly believe that building an authentic relationship with the child is the best way to create a strong foundation for therapy. Through play, I work to provide opportunities for developmentally appropriate challenges for the child to learn and grow. I aim to capitalize on a child’s strengths while gradually working on challenges.

I believe therapy works best when it involves a whole support network, so I welcome families, supports, and caregivers to collaborate in therapy and empower the child to work toward their goals. I’m excited to be part of your child’s thriving journey!

When I’m not working, you can usually find me playing with my two kiddos, making sourdough bread, or getting outdoors with my family and friends— a little fresh air goes a long way!
